Built in 1911 in the Art Nouveau style by architect Yuliy Tsaune, the historic Lysychansk soda factory hospital—a red-brick landmark of the city's European heritage—now stands abandoned and rapidly deteriorating despite efforts by local activists to save it.
The construction of the soda factory hospital dates back to 1911. In the Katerynoslav diocesan records for 1911, there is a document confirming that the newly built soda factory hospital was consecrated on December 28, 1911. The book "Along the Catherine Railway" from 1912 mentions a hospital with 40 beds. The walls of the building are made of red ceramic brick, the 3-4-story rooms are arranged around an inner courtyard, the details of the window openings are cemented. The main facade is made symmetrically. The roof is hipped. It is made, like all the buildings in the microdistrict, in the Art Nouveau style. Architect Yuliy Tsaune (Kharkiv). It was equipped with an elevator.
The hospital has not been operating since 1995. As of 2020, it is on the balance sheet of the regional health department.
In 2019, the slate roof was destroyed by unknown persons, and the building is rapidly collapsing. Activists are trying to save the hospital building
